Steve being interviewed by Terry Boyd at the Dallas Supercross

We had a great hour on the “TCT Alive” Christian TV program. We will have it posted on the site in a few weeks if you would like to watch.
The past few weeks I have been considering what it really means to be a Christian in a culture that seems to accept every kind of religion and any kind of behavior. So much in this world seems to tempt, hinder and afflict the Christian to give up on their confession of faith in Jesus Christ.
Not one of us escapes the constant challenges to compromise and back off our commitment. The battle rages for us to become a statistic of the “once strong” Christian witness we had.
As I was praying and thinking about what to write on the front page of my web site, I felt drawn to the words of our Lord written in the gospel of Luke. These are very strong words that challenge the soul of man and we must all consider what part we play in this requirement we’re challenged in through scripture.
In Luke 12:48 we read the words spoken by Jesus:
…..For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required……
Each one of us has a different lot in life and is only responsible for our part in it. Some who read this dissertation are responsible for much, others are responsible for little and we are not to judge what part others have. We should be focused on what our requirement is and have encouraging words for others, helping them fulfill their part.
I have realized, through my own experiences, that some people truly do not believe they have anything to offer and that their life doesn’t really count for much. My friend, this is a lie the enemy tries to plant in the minds of the precious ones who have given their lives to Jesus Christ. We must understand and know that we are a new creation, a special people, and it’s the enemy’s desire to make us feel unimportant and insignificant. We must let nothing or no one hinder us from fulfilling our commitment of faith in the work the Lord specifically has for us, whatever our part may be.
We will face trials and persecution from those who don’t understand, but we must strengthen ourselves, not allowing these to hinder our purpose of letting people see Jesus in our lives. My friend, no matter what trials, pressures or circumstances you face, you must realize you are special and that Jesus Christ desires to live large in you.
He has given me a part and He’s given you a part. My question to all of us is, how serious are we taking the part He has given us. By His strength, I have decided to use whatever honor He has given me, to fulfill my part in honoring Him.
Don’t let the enemy convince you that you’re unimportant. Call upon the name of Jesus today and ask Him to strengthen you to meet the requirement of your part in life. You are important and special to Him my friend. Believe it!
Be a Champion for Jesus!
